Founded in 2019, New Court Solicitors is a law firm with a difference; a law firm that treats our clients as people, not cases. During a difficult time in our clients' lives, we want to be the friendly face our clients seek out to provide peace of mind through practical, easy to understand advice.
MEET THE TEAM
Dilshad Kaur Judge, Senior Solicitor
Director, Dilshad Kaur Judge graduated with her law degree in 2012 and has gained 16 years' post-qualification experience specialising in Family Law.

Dilshad is a confident and shrewd court advocate, regularly instructed to represent her clients in Court. She predominately advises clients considering divorce proceedings, on Financial Settlement involving high value matrimonial assets, Children Act Proceedings and Injunctions namely non-molestation and occupation orders. She has been instructed in an array of cases relating to financial settlement between parties following divorce or separation, complex trusts, overseas properties and spouses who fail to comply with court procedures, complicated children matters including abduction, one parent seeking to relocate the child and cases alleging sexual abuse.

Highly aware that many of her clients are going through a stressful, emotional and often painful time, Dilshad holds client care in the highest regard, treating each client with empathy, respect and professionalism.
Her warmth goes hand in hand with a robust and pragmatic approach - Dilshad has exacting standards with regard to ensuring matters are progressed swiftly, that she maintains regular contact with clients to keep them fully updated, that legal processes are fully explained and that clients receive a complete and clear breakdown of the steps required in legal proceedings.

With boundless energy, Dilshad puts just as much focus into her personal life as her professional life. The single mother of two beautiful daughters, she understands first-hand the challenges that divorce brings. She’s proud that her wonderful girls have inherited her fast and witty sense of humour and even more so that they share her passion for standing up for justice, speaking out for what’s right and fighting for their beliefs. Dilshad appreciates pure and simple pleasures, particularly running, going for long walks with her lovely dog, and sharing a glass of wine and good times with her friends and family. She speaks fluent Punjabi and Hindi and in her spare time can be found exploring the world and enjoying global cuisine.

Sonam Meyon, Solicitor
Sonam completed her law degree at Brunel University, her LPC at the University of Westminster and has subsequently worked at various firms on cases ranging from complex financial and children proceedings to challenging immigration appeals. While Sonam has built a wealth of knowledge and experience across many areas of law during this time, her passion lies in Family and Immigration cases.

Sonam is an experienced advocate with a deep understanding of the law and has represented clients of all backgrounds with far-ranging legal expertise covering matters from separation, divorce, finances and disputes over child arrangements to spousal Visas, British citizenship and domestic violence and abuse. She works on cases for both mothers and fathers and treats every case with the care and attention that it requires. She is committed to delivering a personalised service, believing that one of the most important aspects of what she does is getting to know her clients, making a personal connection and relating to their specific needs and circumstances.

Understanding the importance of transparency and timely communication, Sonam is emphatic about keeping clients informed of all developments throughout the legal process, ensuring they fully recognise and appreciate their rights and obligations under the law. Her commitment to her clients is unmatched, and she works tirelessly and proactively to develop a strategy that meets their unique needs and goals while anticipating and addressing potential issues before they arise.

Sonam's love of a mental challenge extends beyond complex cases into her personal life, where she particularly enjoys strategic games like chess. Alongside her role at New Court Solicitors she runs a monthly case law club, assisting a network of solicitors to keep up to date with changes to family and immigration law. Supportive by nature, Sonam’s thoughtfulness extends beyond work to her friends and family, who know her as a caring and patient listener who provides considered and sympathetic advice. Sonam balances the time and effort she pours into others with spiritually nourishing activities like meditation and the arts, and is herself a keen painter.
